The final rules will largely replace the cumbersome Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Section 333 Exemption and Certificate of Waiver or Authorization (COA) processes, according to Tom Dougherty, leader of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Industry Team at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP.
